Sure, you've heard of marry me chicken (or perhaps you haven't, but it's a thing -- look it up). But this recipe for macaroni & cheese is so good I've been told it's what should be served if you want someone to propose or if you want someone to accept your proposal.
I served this the night before a dear friend got married (his last supper, as it were). And, as he still loves both it and his wife (although I can't say which one he loves more, lol!), I'm very comfortable singing this recipe's praises. Interestingly, it was a daughter of this couple who told me I needed to share this recipe with the world, and that it should be called, "Marry Me Mac & Cheese." [Thanks, H!]
In any case, this is a pretty standard recipe, except for the secret nutmeg addition; but that's enough to make it stand out. Well, that and it has obscene amounts of delicious cheese...
