The Simplest Cranberry Sauce

Simple, delicious, and a great holiday gift!
Ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 bag (12 ounce) of fresh cranberries
½ tsp freshly grated orange zest
Preparation
Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.Â
Add cranberries and simmer, stirring occasionally, until berries just pop, 10-12 minutes.Â
Stir in zest, then cool in pot. (It thickens as it cools)
If it does not seem as thick as you would like it, you can simply put it back on the stove and cook a bit more.
